It feels like Siberia outside! Hopefully, the weather will come back to normal soon. You're right about living vegetables tolerating a lot. But then, isn't it strange how some are so difficult to grow?

Robin, Yeah! Homemade soup does sound really good in this weather!

Mark Willis, Ha! Ha! At least I could call them "fresh frozen".

Daphne, You're right about the greens. My chard looks like something I've never seen before. It looks almost like it melted. Gooey-looking.

kitsapFG, The carrots ARE sweet and the leeks smelled very good when I was cleaning them up. They'll be a great addition to the soup.

Thanks to each of you for visiting and sharing your comments! My ground is frozen solid and I can't bring my garden in to thaw it out. Which is really too bad. Though to be honest I don't need the ground thawed. I need the plants thawed. The greens don't pick well if they are frozen.Daphne Gouldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17305049560953735881noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3712291801064010036.post-21062067553781672042010-12-20T16:45:17.336-05:002010-12-20T16:45:17.336-05:00So, did you admit to your friends that you had bee...So, did you admit to your friends that you had been eating "frozen carrots"?? My only remaining root veg are parsnips, and they are certainly frozen-in at present. I have been holding off harvesting my leeks.
